Mahima wrote proposals with Dakshin Foundation for initiating researcher and community-based fisheries monitoring project in the Lakshadweep Islands. She also initiated a new project to study dynamics of plankton communities in the Andaman Islands as part of a grant Dakshin had received from GOI Department of Biotechnology.
