Before joining Dakshin, Gita managed a small business selling vadas and samosas and served as the president of a Self-Help Group (SHG), focusing on livelihood-related government projects. At Dakshin, Gita oversees the base’s daily operations, including cleaning and maintaining rooms and office spaces, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, and cooking for events and the field base. In addition to these responsibilities, she enjoys playing Ludo, teaching small children, and tailoring. Gita is fluent in Odia and Hindi.
