Profile: Aswati has over a decade of experience in the social impact sector, with a focus on human rights and sustainability. Her journey began with tribal communities in Rajasthan, where she developed a deep appreciation for the power of collective action and networks—an experience that continues to shape how she approaches her work.
Since then, she has worked across India and the Global South with a diverse range of organisations—from grassroots groups and state governments to international NGOs—focusing on strengthening institutions, advancing human rights, and contributing to more just and sustainable systems. She is particularly interested in how collaborative, community-centered approaches can address complex social and environmental challenges.
At Dakshin, Aswati works as Assistant Director, where she stewards institutional donor relationships, contributes to fundraising strategy and proposals, and supports SeaChange. Her role involves working closely across teams and partners to build meaningful collaborations and sustain long-term initiatives.
Outside of work, she is an ardent reader of speculative fiction, an enthusiastic traveler, and a keen collector of board games.
