Aryaman Tewari

Programme Associate

Qualifications: MA Public Policy, OP Jindal Global University, 2023

Email: aryaman@dakshin.org

Profile: Hailing from Northeast India, and having witnessed how the region has often been overlooked and mistreated, Aryaman has developed a commitment to working with and for marginalized communities who find themselves on the frontlines of socio-economic/ecological fragilities, including human-wildlife conflict. He also cares deeply about how knowledge is held and passed on, and believes that indigenous education is a school in itself, and that education can also breathe outside classroom walls.

Prior to Dakshin, he worked for two years at FERAL in Southern India and a year with TERI in New Delhi. He was also shortlisted for the prestigious M. Krishnan Memorial Essay Award 2026 instituted by the Madras Naturalists Society under the theme, ‘The Realm of Raptors’.

Outside of work, Aryaman enjoys pushing his limits during long-distance running (often questioning his life choices midway!), playing and teaching chess, and remains a firm believer that some of life’s best moments can be found over copious amounts of hot chai at a small tapri while it’s raining.
