Profile: Aarthika is passionate about fostering community development and bringing people together and has always been enthralled with the natural world and sustainable environmental conservation. She discovered her genuine calling while studying Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology.
She gained real-world experience through several internships while pursuing a post graduate degree in social work. She has worked at Don Bosco Beatitudes Social Welfare Centre, Tamilnadu Domestic Workers Welfare Trust (TNDWWT), Agaram Foundation, and Nilgiris Adivasi Welfare Association. In TNDWWT, she organised awareness campaigns on Breast Cancer (Pink October) and Domestic Workers Rights and Policies, conducted Children’s Parliaments and assisted the Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board community with basic identity needs from the Government. She was active in social action for Value-based Education and Domestic Workers’ State Level Policy with the Unorganised Workers Federation. Additionally, qualified in Paediatric Palliative care by the Golden Butterflies Foundation and Rights-Based Community Interventions by the Justice & Hope Trust.
At Dakshin, Aarthika is a Programme Assistant of Community and Resource Governance team, coordinating the Coastal Grassroots Fellowship in Ramanathapuram.
